In June 1991, I began my active duty service with the U.S. Marine Corps. I went to Marine Boot Camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina.
My next stop was MCT (Marine Combat Training) at Camp Geiger, a part Campe Lejeune in North Carolina.
Next, I entered my first MOS (Militay Occupational Skill) School at Fort Belvoir located in Alexandria, Virginia. After receiving my initial assignment for a permanent duty station in Virgina, I volunteered for a short deployment to Okinawa, Japan. This decision changed my life forever.
