On July 25th, 2007, Onaga Yoshimitsu Kaichō traveled to visited the Republic of Latvia from Okinawa, accompanied by his daughter Onaga Michiko Sensei, and by Arakaki Shunichi Sensei.  Also in attendance, were Jimmy Mora from New York City; Jean-marie Perrier from Lyon, France; and members of Club Neguss, headed by Sensei Eriks Annuskans.  This event was posible thanks to the support of Dr. Artis Pabriks and several other private donors. 

This event was organized with training sessions in the mid-morning at Dr. Pabriks' private Dōjō, and in the late afternoon/ evening at Club Neguss.  In addition, Onaga Kaichō had early morning sessions at our hotel by the Baltic Sea: Villa Anna

First Morning Training

July 26th - Our first morning session was at Club Neguss, located in Jūrmala.  We started training with Yobiundō, tuski, keri and tenshin.

Machiwara Training

Onaga Michiko Sensei demonstrated several basic makiwara forms...

Then, Onaga Kaichō explained the use of Iri Kumi (inside fighting).

Naifuanchi Katas

Onaga Kaichō explained some of the principles of the Naifuanchi San Dan & Naifuanchi Sho Dan.  Arakaki Shunichi Sensei demosntrated the Naifuanchi katas as Sensei explained each position.

Also, we had a couple of Japanese visitors: Mr. Akimura & Ms. Matsushita, who are currently assisiting Onaga Kaichō with the business development of the Honorary Consul of Latvia in Okinawa.
