Here are some of the highlights at my Dōjō during February 2008:
AWARD CEREMONY — SHINJINBUKAN INTERNATIONAL

Award Ceremony — Shinjinbukan International
The Shinjinbukan School in Okinawa, Japan, established this registration process through its international Association. The last registration period took place in December 2007. For more information, visit: Shinjinbukan.net
On February 6th, we had a small ceremony to receive these certificates. At the time, only six members were registered under my Dōjō: myself (Mr. Jimmy Mora), Mr. Preston Flammang (Shinjinbukai Affiliate), Mr. Jean-marie Perrier (Shinjinbukai Affiliate, Lyon, France), Mr. Julian Dove (Amsterdam), Vassily Lowenfels and Sofia Rusanoff.
The other students, who have recently started at my Dōjō will be registered with the Shinjinbukan International Karate Dō Association during the 2009 registration. Until then, continue training hard...
Promotion to First Kyū — Mr. Preston Flammang
On February 12, 2008, I awarded the rank of first Kyū (I Kkyū) to Mr. Preston Flammang. Preston started in my Dōjō 18 months ago. Prior to meeting me, Preston had a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. However, he had to work very hard to learn a completely different way of thinking: The Shinjinbukan style. Congratulations!!
Next, Preston demonstrated two katas to the junior students: Naifuanchi Sho Dan and Pinan Sho Dan.
Promotion to Go Kyū — Mr. Julian Dove
On February 12, 2008, I also awarded the rank of fifth Kyū (Go Kyū) to Mr. Julian Dove, who currently lives in Amsterdam. Julian started at my Dōjō a year ago and has travels back to New York on a regular basis to continue his training. We also have regular video conferences to review some basic aspects of the Shinjinbukan curiiculum. Good Job!!
