BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE Melanie has trained martial arts since her early teens. Originally born in Germany into a half German, half Polish family, she moved to the UK after university. There she switched from Taekwondo to Okinawan karate and since developed a strong interest in learning about true Okinawan martial arts and Japanese culture. In April 2008, Melanie fulfilled her dream to live in Okinawa.
