BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Melanie has trained martial arts since her early teens. Originally born in Germany into a half German, half Polish family, she moved to the UK after university.  There she switched from Taekwondo to Okinawan karate and since developed a strong interest in learning about true Okinawan martial arts and Japanese culture. 

In April 2008, Melanie fulfilled her dream to live in Okinawa.

Since becoming a student at the Shinjinbukan School, Ms. Petrak has received the following certificates:
— On December 18, 2008, promotion to I Kkyū / 1st Kyū
  (一級) 
— On August 24, 2009, promotion to Sho Dan / 1st Dan (first degree black belt)
  (初段)

Currently, Ms. Petrak (Madame Mora) trains and teaches at her private Dōjō in Augsburg Germany.  She also collaborates with her husband Jimmy Mora, promoting the Shinjinbukan School in New York City and Europe.
