THE SHINJINBUKAN NEW YORK BRANCH The Shinjinbukan New York Shibu Dōjō, founded in 1996 by Jimmy Mora, was the first Shinjinbukan Branch in the United States. Our mission is to preserve and promote the traditions of the Shinjinbukan School in Okinawa, Japan. Our school is a private Dōjō offering classes to a selected group of students of all ages. An appointment is required prior to visiting our Dōjō. New students are only accepted on a trial basis after completing an interview & screening process. Our fees WILL NOT be discussed over the phone, but only during the interview process. All students and members at our Dōjō are required to pay an annual registration fee to the Shinjinbukan Honbu Dōjō in Okinawa, Japan. The annual registration fee is collected only once per year, during the month of January, and it is calculated based on the following rates: The Shinjinbukan Foundation offers scholarships through its community program: Shōrin Ryū New York.
