Shinjinbukan New York Shibu Dōjō − USA

The Shinjinbukan New York Shibu Dōjō, founded in 1996 by Sensei Jimmy Mora, was the first Shinjinbukan Branch in the United States.  Our mission is to preserve and promote the traditions of the Shinjinbukan School in Okinawa, Japan. 

Our school is a private Dōjō offering classes to a selected group of students.  An appointment is required prior to visiting our Dōjō.  No children classes are available at this time.

Admission — Nyūgaku                 入学

An appointment is required prior to visiting our Dōjō.  New students are only accepted on a trial basis after completing an interview and screening process.  All candidates, must complete the following steps: 

Step One: Complete, save and email the New Student Application Form (pdf format).  This will give us a better idea of how suitable the Shinjinbukan program is for each candidate.  One of our instructors will contact you to review your application. 

Step Two: Make an appointment for a phone interview.  Depending on the results of the interview, an appointment to visit to our Dōjō will be give only to the most suitable candidates.

Fees — Gessha                 月謝

Our regular fees WILL ONLY be discussed in person during the interview process.  All students and members at our Dōjō are required to pay an annual registration fee to the Shinjinbukan Honbu Dōjō in Okinawa, Japan.  This annual registration fee is collected only once per year, during the month of January, based on the following categories:
    — Yūdansha: Black Belts or Shinjinbukai Affiliate Members
    — Mudansha: Junior Belts (All Ages)
